Don't
forget to mark your calendars for our Pachyderm Luncheon Meeting
this coming Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at noon, at Nacho's
Restaurant located in the Rodeway Inn, at 2502 Loop 306.
The
program will feature a roundtable discussion by 5 randomly selected
members on any topic of their choice for 3 minutes. Discussion will
follow afterwards.
Your
board met on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 2 P.M., at Nacho's. Our
club treasurer, Lyleann McClellan Thee, reported that $868.23 was
the amount on hand in the club's checking account. The board voted
to donate in November '08 $50.00 to the Salvation Army; $50.00 to
Meals for the Elderly; and $50.00 to the USMC Toys for Tots in
December '08. At this meeting (Nov 12th), we will pass the Elephant
Basket around for individual contributions for the Salvation Army
and Meals for the Elderly. We will split the total collected
between the two Charitable organizations and add that to the $50.00
each from the Club. We will have service members from the USMC as
our special guests for the December luncheon meeting. All of these
donations we have been doing for the last several years during the
Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. In December, we suggest a toy
gift or a cash contribution for Toys for Tots as noted earlier in
this message.
The
Nominations Committee will present 2 nominations for 2 new board
members to the membership for approval. Also, the board will
announce their selection for President and Vice President for 2009
at our November meeting.
We want
to welcome 4 new members that joined our club at the October
luncheon meeting. The new members are:
David Wells
Randy Harris
Scott Patterson
Micheil Wiegand
We look
forward to your input and participation.
Continue
to pray for and support our troops. If you know someone who has a
son or daughter serving in the Middle East, bring them a small
item(s) for the next "care" package they send them. The troops will
appreciate it and let them know somebody cares about them. Real
Americans are invested in VICTORY.
Bring a
prospective member to the meeting on Wednesday. Remember, anyone
who joins in the last 3 months of the calendar year receives them
free and is paid for 2009.
Thanks
for being the good citizens you are. Fight the good fight, run the
race, and keep the Faith!!!
