Don't forget to mark
your calendars for our Pachyderm Luncheon Meeting this coming
Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at noon, at Nacho's Restaurant, located in
the Rodeway Inn, at 2502 Loop 306.
The program will feature
Mr. Del V. Velasquez, Executive Director of Downtown San Angelo,
Inc. Mr. Velasquez will be speaking about community involvement in
downtown San Angelo.
I want to thank all our
Pachyderm Members that attended the Republican State Convention in
Houston last month. One of our members, Yantis Green, was elected
as the Number 1 delegate to the Republican National Convention to
lead the Republican delegates representing the 32 counties
comprising the 11th Congressional District of Texas. The Republican
National Convention will be held in St. Paul, MN, from September 1
through September 4, 2008. We want to congratulate Yantis on his
outstanding achievement. Yantis was very involved in supporting one
of the Republican Candidates in the Presidential Primaries along
with his continuous political involvement at the local and county
levels. It should also be noted that Yantis has been active,
supportive, and very involved with our San Angelo Pachyderm Club.
Yantis is going to need our
prayers and financial support to make this journey and complete his
mission to represent us at the National Convention. And he is the
man that can do it! I encourage all of you to take this request
seriously, because the time is now critical that we have a
Conservative West Texan voice at this convention more than ever to
move the rino's in the right direction and let them know what
it means to be a true Reagan Conservative. The Republican Party of
Texas has projected a delegate's cost for this convention to be
approximately $5000 plus. Please visit his website at
www.yantisgreen.com You will be very informed about Yantis '
background and his credentials. We need to help young Republicans
stay viable in this party of ours. So cough up some shekels and
let's send a genuine Republican to St. Paul, MN. If you can bring a
check for him to the meeting on Wednesday, this will make it easier
for you. Incidentally, Yantis wrote a very informative article
about the State Convention. The article was in the Viewpoints
Section D , page D-1, of the Standard-Times , Thursday, June 26,
2008 edition. You can probably find it on
www.gosangelo.com I will be following up this letter with an
email that I received from Yantis. Some of you have already
received it.
We still need some of our
members to renew their 2008 membership dues. I am tentatively
planning a board meeting for Thursday, July 17th, at 2 P.M. Board
members let me know if this is not workable.
Continue to support our
troops. It is always a great day to wear an American Flag lapel pin
and place your hand over your heart during the Pledge of Allegiance
and when the National Anthem is played. It's a "no- brainer" for
patriotic Americans.
Thanks for being the good
citizens you are. Bring a prospective member to the meeting on
Wednesday. You are the best membership recruiters we have. Fight
the good fight, run the race, and keep the Faith!!!
